Scientific name: Mezilaurus Itauba (Meissn.) Taub.

General Characteristics:
Wood very heavy, dark-brown to dark havana, uniform, surface irregularly sleek and smooth to the touch.

Trade Names:
Itaúba, blond itaúba, itaúba yellow, avocado and itaúba itaúba black.

Application:
Sleepers, poles, crossarms, beams, joists, rafters, planks and parquet floors, construction and agricultural vehicles, shipbuilding, ships, manufacture of turned parts, furniture, fittings, fenders.
